Chief Minister inaugurated the 42nd National Senior Rowing Championship

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 42nd National Senior Rowing Championship on Monday. More than 500 players from 27 teams from across the country are participating in the competition to be held till March 7 at Bhopal's Bada Talab. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that recently Madhya Pradesh performed brilliantly in the National Games and secured third place in the country. The players of the state won 9 medals in rowing, which is a proof of our sports skills and hard work. On this occasion, the players marched past through rowing boats and showed attractive stunts in the water sports show. Additional Chief Secretary Sports Manu Srivastava, Sports Director Ravi Gupta, Rowing Federation of India Chairman of Competition Balaji Mardapa were present at the inauguration program. Sports Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said that Madhya Pradesh has made a unique identity in the field of water sports across the country. The state government is constantly making efforts for the development of sports. The Sports Minister said that currently 11 sports academies are operating in the state and many new schemes are being brought for the players. There will be 14 events in the competition - 14 events will be organized in this competition, which includes 2 events of Para Single Scull Women and Men category. All the finals of 14 events will be held on March 7. All the competitions will be held at a distance of 2000 meters.
