Give progress report of construction work every week: Sarang

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Saturday reviewed the progress of the work of the International Sports Complex under construction at Nathu Barkheda in the Sports and Youth Welfare meeting at TT Nagar Stadium, Bhopal.

Minister Sarang directed for further necessary improvements in the designing and layout of the construction work of the sports complex being done in Phase-2. He directed to build an administrative block in place of the identified multi-level parking and ensure the arrangement of open parking.

He also directed to submit the progress report of the construction work progress every week, Sports Director Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Joint Director B.S. Yadav, contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, project managers and other concerned officials were present in the meeting. Minister Sarang said that any kind of negligence or reduction in quality in the design and layout of the construction work going on in Phase-1 and Phase-2 of the sports complex will not be tolerated. He directed to complete the construction work within the stipulated time frame after all the necessary improvements soon. He directed to prepare a proper plan for the arrangement of water supply and storage capacity, sewage, fire safety, server room, cafeteria, meeting hall and signage. Minister Sarang said that a detailed plan is also being prepared to ensure that all the basic facilities are as per world-class standards.

Construction of sports complex in Phase-2

In Phase-2, construction work of athletics stadium, hockey stadium, athletics practice field and hockey practice field is being done. In Phase-2, the construction work of Multi Sports Indoor Stadium, Aquatics Center, Football High Performance Center, Staff and Students Residential Complex and Three-Day Practice and Investiture Track is in progress.
