Sports Minister held a meeting of Mayors for the promotion of sports in the state

Cooperatives, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang held a meeting with all the mayors of the state on the promotion of sports at Tatya Tope Stadium Bhopal on Monday. In this meeting, discussions were held on creating an atmosphere of sports in urban bodies with the cooperation of the Sports Department, connecting youth with sports and upgrading the sports infrastructure of urban corporations. Sarang said that sports activities can be promoted by upgrading the sports grounds and facilities already available with the urban bodies.
Creation of a healthy and active society
Sarang said that many initiatives can be taken with the cooperation of the Sports Department to promote community sports in urban bodies. He urged the mayors to prepare a proposal by identifying suitable places for the promotion of sports in their areas, so that a healthy and active society can be built.
Plan to build Fit India Club and Sports Complex
The establishment of Fit India Club and construction of multi-purpose sports complex in each assembly constituency was discussed in the meeting. Minister Sarang informed that the first Fit India Club of the state has been established in Bhopal and now it will be implemented in the entire state. Facilities promoting physical, mental and spiritual health will be available for citizens of all age groups in these clubs.
Discussion on innovations of Sports Department
Innovations started by the Sports Department like Khelo Badho Abhiyan, Parth Yojana and Madhya Pradesh Yuva Prerak Abhiyan were also discussed in the meeting. Sarang asked the mayors to actively implement these innovations in their areas, so that more and more youth can benefit.
Suggestions of Mayors
During the meeting, the mayors gave several suggestions for expanding sports facilities in their areas. Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, Khandwa Mayor Amrita Yadav and other mayors along with Sports Department officials were also present in the meeting. This meeting can prove to be an important step to promote sports in the state, which will provide opportunities to the youth to join sports and develop sports.
