Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang inaugurated the 3rd Digvijay Singh Memorial Shooting Championship

Cooperative, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang inaugurated the 3rd Digvijay Singh Memorial Shooting Championship at Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy, Bhopal on Tuesday. On this occasion, the newly constructed reception building and staff quarters at the Shooting Academy and the new staff quarters and stables built at the Madhya Pradesh State Equestrian Academy were also inaugurated. Minister Sarang paid tribute to Digvijay Singh. He said that late Digvijay Singh was a visionary leader who did commendable work to promote shooting sports as the President of NRAI (National Rifle Association of India) from 1999 to 2010. This championship organized in his memory will provide new inspiration and better opportunities to the players of the state.
World class sports infrastructure for players in Madhya Pradesh
Minister Shri Sarang said that the shooting players of the state are making their mark at the world level. Our players have increased the prestige of the state by winning medals in the Olympics and Paralympics. The players of the Indian Olympic Shooting Team have won medals at the international level by receiving training at the Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy. This achievement is a proof of the state's sports infrastructure and the hard work of our players. He wished all the players who came to participate in the competition.
